World Naked Bike Ride
The World Naked Bike Ride was held in a number of cities this past weekend, though the event takes place throughout the year in different cities around the world. The point of the World Naked Bike Ride is primarily to call attention to the disadvantages of an oil-dependent and autocentric society, and to focus on the bicycle as a viable option to counter many of those ills.
A photo from the Washington, D.C., ride was Time Magazine's picture of the week. It is family friendly and safe for work, though your kids (and maybe your boss) will certainly ask, "Why is that man riding that bike naked?" So have an answer ready.

I was so disappointed to find out that it was on the 16th just about ten minutes ago.
Actually, many rides, including the DC version that I rode in, were on June 7. And in spite of what Time magazine said, this gentleman is not in fact naked. The National Park Service insisted that genitals be covered, so he is wearing a little pouch that you can’t see here.
