Guide Review - Voyager 4.0 headlight by Blackburn
Blackburn's products consistently show innovation in design, and the Voyager 4.0 headlight is right there with the others. It is stout and sturdy like a cop's flashlight, and delivers a bright beam of light through its cluster of bright LEDs.
I was impressed with it right out of the box. The Voyager 4.0 headlight is not only easy to install, but also includes well-written instructions in case you're a person for whom this type of thing is not intuitive. And another very attractive feature - the light, once installed, remains simple to adjust up/down or side to side, or else to remove all together. To me, the design of the light's mount was one of the best I've seen.
Operation of the Voyager 4.0 is simple too. A soft-touch rubber button built flush to the body of the case turns the light on when you press it for two seconds; the same action turns it off. Clicking the button when the light is on rotates the settings through high/low/flash. Blackburn also touts a side blinking amber light on the Voyager, but to me those side amber lights seemed to do little to add extra visibility and were more gimmicky than effective.
The Voyager product specs describe a battery life/run time of four hours on bright and ten hours on low. Flash setting should last to 50 hours. I regularly run it on the low setting (which is very near in brightness to the high as I see it) and have got a good deal more than ten hours out of the batteries as I have used it on my commute and for night riding. But as they say, your milage may vary, depending on circumstance and situation.
