Quaker Oats Makes Boy Biker Transform into King of the Mountain

By January 4, 2013

Follow me on:

quaker oats kid bike helmet rideAs you may know, from time to time advertisers make some boneheaded commercials involving bicyclists (such as the one here, where Audi manages to insult just about everyone who might buy their cars).  That's why it's always cool to see ones that are well done and positive.

Today I came across this commercial by Quaker Oats, which shows how a boy eating the yummy breakfast product basically goes out then and conquers Mt. Everest on his bike.  Certainly a bit fanciful and a bit farcical, but positive and fun nonetheless.

For sure it does a good job of capturing how biking can make you feel like a boss, how your bike can take you new places, and how it's just plain fun to discover yourself doing things you never imagined. Here's to many more commercials just like it.

Theoretically it is actually true Porridge in this case Quaker Oats can help you Conquer Mountains. It is very good for you, chock full of Vitamins and gives off a slow steady rate of energy.

It can help reduce your weight by being non fattening, and the fact that you are eating a Breakfast instead of skipping it can also help reduce your weight. This is vital for every Cyclist who wants to Pedal up Hill without much effort. I dont eat Quaker Oats, but I do eat Organic Porridge from various makers.

I put a T Spoonful of Honey on it and no Salt, very Yummy. If I had Yogurt I would put it on it or Banana. Eat your Porridge in the morning and you can go climb Mountains.Dublin Ireland.

Nice positive message, however the boy is holding the spoon like a two year old. I have a 6 and 7 year old and we help our children to focus on good table manners. In the opening of a commercial show a very mature child, not just once but twice holding a spoon improperly. Thanks.

I think your boy going up the mountain is one of the best on T.V. I can just feel his excitement and imagination when he reaches the top. Good job.
