Using Spin Classes for Interval Training

Spin ClassYou know what interval training is, right?  Going like gang-busters for a specific amount of time, really pushing up the old heart rate just about to the red line, then backing off for another period for rest and recovery.  Then rinse and repeat. The idea is to build your endurance so you can go at top effort for a longer period of time.

With cooler weather on the way, mixed in with a little rain/snow perhaps, depending on where you live, you may find yourself getting pushed indoors.  The good news is that you can use this period to begin or continue interval training through spin classes, fun and frenetic stationary bike workouts that take riding indoors to a whole new level.  Contributor Kim Hellyar, a certified fitness instruction and bona fide spin ninja, tells you how.
