Bike Saddles: Try Before You Buy

Friday March 14, 2008

What's the biggest drawback to buying a new saddle? Of course, it's spending a bunch of dough on a seat only to find out that it doesn't fit you, or hurts your butt, or just isn't right for whatever reason. So how do you avoid that?

The best way I've seen is the try before you buy arrangement offered by Competitive Cyclist, where they'll ship their dozen best selling saddles to your door, all for you to try out for a week. Put them on your bike and ride them as much as you want on the roads you know best.

If you need a road saddle, the selection includes:

  • Fi'zi:k
  • Selle Italia
  • Selle San Marco

Looking for a mountain bike seat? The MTB saddle group includes:

  • Fi'zi:k
  • Selle Italia
  • Maxm
  • WTB
  • Intense

Find the perfect saddle for you, not by guessing, but by actually riding on it, and by comparing the feel and fit of one saddle to another.
