What's the Point of Bike Gloves?

What’s the point of cycling gloves? Somebody asked me that recently in that tone of voice that implied cycling gloves are one of those accessories that are more about image than substance. I mean, c’mon. Do you really need gloves for riding a bike?

Actually, many cyclists find gloves useful. Here are list of six ways that bike gloves can help you when you ride.

You only gave the last six of the first seven reasons any serious cyclist wears gloves: It’s how you constantly wipe your nose!
