SRAM Brake Recall

Monday April 30, 2007

If you have these SRAM Force caliper brakes on your bike, look out. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall, saying the brakes have a design flaw and can break loose from the bicycle's fork or frame when you’re riding, creating the potential for a glorious wipe-out.

About 5,400 units were sold between July 2006 and January 2007, both as aftermarket components and on certain models of bicycles made by Specialized, Trek, Fuji, Bianchi, Sampson and more.

If this could apply to you, don’t ride again until you’ve been to the retailer for free replacement of the brake set. Check out all the details of the announcement, including a complete list of bikes which may have these brakes.
